The International Conference on “Cognition, Emotion and Action” will be held at IIT Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. The state, which has a coastline of 1,600 kms (1,000 miles), is bordered by Rajasthan to the north, Madhya Pradesh to the east, and Pakistan and the Arabian Sea to the west.

Dholavira, one of the largest archaeological sites of the Indus Valley Civilization, is located in Gujarat. The state is also home to Mahatma Gandhi's birth place Porbandar and Sabarmati Ashram, from where he initiated the 1930 Dandi March. Gandhi Ashram is 15 mins from IIT Gandhinagar. Several prominent tourism spots in Maharashtra and Rajasthan are just hours away from the Ahmedabad, including Mt Abu, 215 kms (134 miles) and Udaipur 252 kms (157 miles).

A taxi ride from the airport would cost about Rs 300/- from the airport. The most common transportation is an auto rickshaw. Typical fare from Ahmed-abad railway station to Chandkheda by auto rickshaw is about Rs. 150.

Ahmedabad has generally a dry climate apart from the monsoon months of June to September. March to June are hot summer days with average maxi-mum temperature of about 37 C while the months of November to February are winter with temperature ranging between 15 C to 30 C.
