Summer Workshop on Research Methods in Population

Indian Institute of Technology, Gandhinagar (IITGN) is pleased to announce a summer workshop on Research Methods in Population Studies.
The objectives of the workshop are three-fold:

  • First, it aims to provide knowledge and training on methodological techniques used to generate meaningful findings in population research.
  • Second, the workshop through methods training in health research aims to build competencies and skills required for sustainable capacity building in the health services sector.
  • Finally, the workshop will provide training to effectively communicate research findings to policy audiences.

Through interactive sessions, participants will be introduced to alternative methods in population research by employing primary data sets. Resource persons will present concepts, methods and empirical examples from demography, social epidemiology and public health.

The workshop will be beneficial to post-graduate students, junior faculty at universities, program staff at strategic planning & monitoring divisions of think-tanks/NGOs, government officials and health professionals interested in including population-based research methods in their work.
