Pre-symposium workshop on “Behaviour of Civil Engineering Materials” will be organized on 4th March 2019 (Monday) which is focused on material models commonly used in analysis and design of structures.
The host city of Gandhinagar is located on the banks of Sabarmati River. Gandhinagar is a planned city in the western Indian state of Gujarat. It is the second planned city in the country and is located just 30 Kilometers from Ahmedabad, the commercial capital of Gujarat, a 600 year old city that has just received UNESCO’s world heritage city status and is the 19th fastest growing city in the world.
The Institute is just 25 minutes from the international airport, which has flights to most major cities in India, as well as international flights to USA, UK, Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Doha, Singapore and Dubai etc. The campus is well connected to different cities of Gujarat and other states by road also.
The sister cities of Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad offer numerous tourist attractions which have both historical and contemporary importance. Be it, ornately carved massive temple of Swaminarayan, Akshardham or Birthplace of Indian Freedom Movement ideas at Gandhi Ashram and Stepwell, all depict the values deep embedded in the collective Indian conscience and social fabric of India. One can also visit, the ancient walled city of Ahmedabad which offers contrasting tastes in terms of culture, food and provides an overall enriching stay, not to mention it is considered the safest city in the country. We would encourage you to add a day in your itinerary after completion of symposium. A sight-seeing tour of the citiy has been planned on nominal payment basis.
We are looking forward to your kind support and attending IACMAG to be held in India in 2019.
